The Healing Power of Water
Half the advice people pay specialists for is just: drink more water. Here's the unglamorous case for the finest free medicine.
We hold a deeply unfashionable opinion: most of the time, the answer is water. Headache? Water. Tired at 3pm? Probably water. Skin looks tired, mood's off, can't focus? There are real exceptions, and we're not doctors — but an embarrassing share of the time, you're just a little dehydrated and have learned to ignore it.
This isn't a wellness pitch. There's no powder to buy, no subscription, no electrolyte cult to join. The intervention is free, it comes out of your tap, and the side effect is 'you have to pee more.' That's the whole downside.
The cheapest fix for the most problems is also the one we're most likely to skip.
We tested the dumbest possible version of this — a big glass first thing in the morning, every morning, for a month. Did it cure anything? No. Did the afternoon slump get noticeably quieter and the headaches mostly stop? Annoyingly, yes.
Keep it: a glass when you wake up, a bottle within arm's reach. Skip it: anything that promises to 'optimize' the water you already have. It's water. It's fine. It's the finest, actually.
